Shipping Policy

Last updated: [8.16.2024]

At Dana Aerospace, we strive to provide accurate shipping rates based on the destination, package size, weight, and shipping method selected at checkout. However, there are instances where additional shipping charges, known as shipping overages, may be incurred due to various factors. This Overage Policy outlines how we handle such situations.

1. Definition of Shipping Overage

A shipping overage occurs when the actual cost of shipping exceeds the amount paid by the customer at checkout. This can happen due to reasons including, but not limited to:

  • Inaccurate package weight or dimensions
  • Changes in shipping rates from carriers
  • Additional fees imposed by carriers (e.g., for remote delivery areas or special handling)
  • Incorrect or incomplete address information provided by the customer

2. Shipping Timeframe

Items are usually shipped within 4-18 business days after payment has been received. Please note that this timeframe is an estimate and may vary depending on the specific circumstances of your order. Any delays beyond this estimated timeframe will be communicated to the customer.

3. Customer Notification and Payment

In the event of a shipping overage, we will contact the customer via email as soon as the overage is identified. The customer will be provided with the following information:

  • The reason for the overage
  • The amount of the additional shipping charge
  • Options for how to proceed with the order

Customers will be required to pay the overage amount before the order can be shipped. Payment can be made through a secure payment link provided in the notification email. If the overage is not paid within [specify number of days], the order may be delayed or canceled, and a refund will be issued minus any non-recoverable fees.

4. Address Corrections and Incomplete Addresses

If the shipping overage is due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the customer, the customer will be responsible for any additional charges incurred. We encourage customers to double-check their shipping information during checkout to avoid these issues.

5. Refunds of Overages

If, after shipment, it is determined that the customer was overcharged for shipping, we will automatically refund the difference to the original payment method used at checkout. This refund will be processed within [specify number of days] after the shipment is completed.

6. Shipping Method Changes

If the customer requests a change in the shipping method after the order has been placed, any resulting shipping overage will be communicated to the customer for payment before the order is shipped. If the shipping cost decreases due to the change, we will refund the difference.

7. Carrier-Imposed Surcharges

Certain shipping carriers may impose surcharges for deliveries to remote areas or for packages requiring special handling. In such cases, the customer will be responsible for paying any additional surcharges. We will notify the customer as soon as possible if such a surcharge is identified.

8. Final Sale and Non-Refundable Shipping

Please note that once an order has shipped, any additional shipping charges due to overages are non-refundable. Shipping fees for final sale items are also non-refundable, regardless of overages.
